Web Accessibility Guidelines

This website complies with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0)

These guidelines, regarding web accessibility for disabled people, are developed by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the W3C Consortium.

The characteristics of an accessible site are:

  • Transformable: Information and services must be accessible to all and usable with all browsing devices.
  • Understandable: Clear and simple content.
  • Navigable: Simple navigation mechanisms.
  • The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 consist of 4 principles, 12 guidelines, and 61 success criteria:

Principle 1: Perceivability
Information and user interface components must be presented to users in ways they can perceive. 4 guidelines and 22 success criteria.

Principle 2: Operability
User interface components and navigation must be operable. 4 guidelines and 20 success criteria.

Principle 3: Understandability
Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable. 3 guidelines and 17 success criteria.

Principle 4: Robustness
Content must be robust enough to be reliably interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies. 1 guideline and 2 success criteria.
